Re: Misc. parts to identify
those are the rear engine/transmission mounts, never seen the wooden parts before and not related to the motor mounts. Under the headlights was a rubber gasket, not wood.

generic info that no one cares about
I was asked what is going on with my car as I have made no posts in a long time. Well for a quite a while, I was happy with how much I was getting done, had BIG plans for the Christmas holiday where I was going to cut up the front hood and weld on new sections to match the front wings. I even bought...

I don't have that engine to check for you but you will need a short section of flex line if you mount on the firewall

Re: Singer 4A roadster steering column locking nut
the woodruff key should be easy to find, even if its a little oversized a few hits with a file will bring it down to fit. The nut will be harder to find, if it is BSF as I think and you also think it is, that should be doable as a full size nut and shave it down to the thin nut that it is. But if yo...

Re: Quick update on my 4AD - and... new lug nuts?
I have never seen lug nuts on any other car like the 4AD and you are right, they are BSF or Witworth treads. That means other British cars should fit but they won't look the same and may not work as well depending on the angle against the wheel. I have often thought of making some, it does not look ...

LM Rear Axle
new Member having issues with images...posting for him, Mike. Dear all, I started to restore a Singer Le Mans 1934, two seater, 1 litre (Car No 62743) which I received some month ago. It recently passed the technical board and is allowed to go on the street. Everything is ok except the differential....

Re: 1953 California 4AD
don't know, in the old days, I just walked to Moss Motors during my lunch hour and bought whatever they had there. Unfortunately, they closed their front desk during Covid and have no plans to re-open it, so now I have to call and buy it and they ship it in a day or 3 for free...a whopping 0.8 miles...

Re: 1953 California 4AD
I have been playing with Singer's far too long :) And I only use Castrol brake fluid in my 4AD. It is possible that you have newer hoses and cylinders that can handle anything else but if you don't know for sure, stick with Castrol. If you rebuild the brakes using modern parts, then you can use what...

Re: 1953 California 4AD
if he really kept ALL documentation, you will probably find some from me back in the 70's. I should even have pictures of the car and Lanvin at my house for a Singer car show in Santa Barbara also at Jonas Waxman's house in Oakland, also for a Singer meet. Unfortunately in those days I shot 35mm sli...
