Kaye Don for Auction in March
Kaye Don for Auction in March
This beautiful 1933 Kaye Don is being auctioned by H&H at Duxford on 21st March. If I didn't have my Light Six and I did have £30k spare I'd be bidding! I will be going to view her anyway as its only just over an hour away from me and I'm a Friend of Duxford so I get in for free on the viewing day. What a stunner!
Re: Kaye Don for Auction in March
That looks lovely, but surely it's a standard Super Six saloon, not a Kaye Don? I thought the Kaye Don had a special radiator and a 2-pane windscreen.

Good point Mike: my brochure shows the 1932 model to be as you describe with the split screen and different radiator. Maybe they changed in 1933?
Re: Kaye Don for Auction in March
I've seen this car in the metal and it is stunning!

I toured in this car with Dave through Northampton several years ago. Such a lovely car - very luxurious.

Re: Kaye Don for Auction in March
This wonderful Singer is now sold and, considering its rarity and quality, for a very reasonable sum:

And over estimate!
Hope the new owner enjoys the ride!

Look forward to seeing some of the other vintage and post-vintage saloons on this board back on the road to join her!

Re: Kaye Don for Auction in March
I've seen it posited in print, on this website I believe, that there is only one Kaye Don.
If this car is a Kaye Don, what was the thinking behind the statement that the Kaye Don car was unique? Is there something more to the claim that isn't clear? Is there only one Kaye Don from its inaugural year perhaps?
Gorgeous automobile, and a pretty fair price. I might have thought more money for such a fine looking and rare vehicle, but auctions are never predictable. It takes at least two people ( for better prices, two egos ) to drive the big numbers of a high sale price.

Re: Kaye Don for Auction in March
I moved this out of the "For Sale" section because the "For Sale" section gets auto-deleted when a post reaches 90 days and I didn't want to lose the pretty pictures of the car along with the conversation...
