I attend a VSCC meet in Sunday at a country pub near me, about 50 cars and a jazz band were there, and avery pleasant lunchtime it was as well.
There was an early Singer sallon there, which had additional front suspension parts.
I could not figure out what the function was for this, and have not seen anything like this before.
Apart from acting like a lower suspension arm.
Does anyone know?
Thanks
Roly

looks like some steering link, but I think its not original. Go ahead guys prove me wrong
I thought it might be a IFS suspension but it does not look at all like a Singer pre-war IFS.

Hi Roly,
It's the Perrot shaft for the rod operated brakes. The car is a Singer Junior and my Singer Senior, the Junior's big brother, has the same brake arrangement, except the Senior enjoys the benefit of servo assistance...a real luxury in the 1920's!

Hope that helps!

Re: What is this?
Gosh, I would not have easily guessed that.
A very creative design.
