To my knowledge there is no specification for float level. If the fuel is going into the throat of the carb at idle or when it engine is not operating you may need to put another washer under the needle and seat. Be careful to only put one or two 1/16" wahers maximum as you will lessen the thread area that secures the needle & seat to carb top. Also Singer 4AD roadsters ran with 1.5 - 2.0m psi from pump NOT any more pressure!

David is correct as usual, there is no float adjustment on the 4AD Solex carb. The only thing you can do is change the thickness of the washer between the check valve and the carb body but I don't recommend that. The valve is part number 26 on this picture Imageand you will see that it is stamped 1.5 on the top of it...that is for the fuel pressure, somewhere around 2psi you will flood the motor. On my 4AD I would flood with my pressure (after market, the 4AD did not have one) when it was set at 1.8, don't know how accurate it was but car ran flawlessly at 1.6.

I am not sure but I believe the 1.5 is the size of the opening in the seat. They have different sizes on the needle & seat.
I used to get them for the VW Bus.
