I am posting this to let everyone know that I have successfully gotten my fathers(with a little bit of his help and permission) 1936 Le mans 2 seater back on the road. We still have some things to do on this car, but we have been driving it around here a little bit with no significant problems(yet). The car is generally in good shape and it just needed a little bit of time to remove what sitting for 15 years does to cars as well as fixing the problems which caused the car to be left in the garage which included but wasn't limited to leaky carbs which caused a little fire.
This car was previously owned Tony Reynor and then was sold to Paul Barnes who then sold the car to my father about 21 years ago. Phillip Avis came to see this car a little while ago and determined that this car used to be a 1934 four seater sports but was turned into a 2 seater lemans special speed (but without the engine upgrade) when Tony Owned it.
I will post more information about this car as well as some pictures of it sometime next week. And if anyone knows anything else about this Singer I would love to know about it.

Oops I think I knew that. I guess I was confusing the different parts of the car(the engine block is a '34 right?) I won't ask you any questions until I read that article though. I guess it's time to actually join the club.
We got the car running and driving a couple of months ago, but only now has the cooling system worked(the block was completely blocked with various gunk), it seems that every time I look at the car another problem arises though so it is definitely still a work in progress. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to make sure the water is running uninterrupted through the block?

Congratulations Kit your LeMans looks great and welcome to the Le Mans affectionados from downunder aussieland.Bit hard to assist from here but will try to help with questions.Regarding cooling the blocks do get gunked up after 70years and the only way I know is to take out the welsh plugs(and replace them!) from the side of the block and flush the gunk out,and do the same with the radiator(turn it upside down and reverse flush).My LM has never had a cooling problem since doing that, even in very hot Australian summers so a flush should do the trick...then use water prepared so that it does not eat away the aluminium water ways to the head and block.Cheers Trev
