I have recently gotten off the phone with my dad (Kenlis) who cannot get on the boards due to the speed of which he connects to the internet.

That said, I had to say I cannot believe that such a great group of people who I just spent a weekend with carry on a conversation as I have just read. Or that they contacted my dad with, as he put it "snarly emails". Having spent a lot of my life dealing with communications that happen via email or fax I know that the context of the message can be missed but not hearing the voice saying it, however after reading this thread it doesn't surprise me how my Dad feels right now. those are my only comments concerning the discussions and communications that I have read and my Dad has received.

NOW ONTO THE CAR....

The three pictures available are the ones that we currently have of it, during the Stowe diner, I believe someone mentioned that the engine appears to be a "flat head Ford" now what that means your guess is better then mine. We thing the drive shaft is available along with very few parts, maybe the engine cover, and basic layout...again as mentioned by Peter this is way beyond our scope to even figure out what could be recovered..

Sorry but the 54' ADT that my dad is restoring has been quite the challenge in itslef and those that know Singers know that the 54 AD seems to be one of the easier cars to get parts for.

As far as where the car is going....My dad is quite Adament that the car was picked up for the club to decide what to do with it. This means that it has NOT been decided where it goes. Phil I apologize for bother my Dad and I if you were lead to believe it had been given to you. At Stowe we were trying to find out the best future for the car by getting multiple opinions. We picked it up because we were the closest and were lead to believe after talking to the owner that if someone didn't pick it up by the end of this summer there was a good chance it would be sent to the dump.

Now the question becomes...how does "the club" go about deciding where such a vehicle ends up? If we can have a calm discussion about that I would love to hear feed back.

Sorry for all the typos in the above message. I didn't proof read as well as I should have and do apologize for how hard it makes it to read that post.

I have offered to take the car, but I can not guarantee that I can make a Bantam out of it. I can guarantee that the car will not be broken up with the Singer parts sold for my own benefit. I can not confirm how long it will take. If I can not do anything with the car then I will make it available to anyone else who can. I live within trailering distance to the car, and have the ability to collect it at anyone's convenience.

There is the offer, let me know what the club decides so that I may make the necessary arrangements.

I use Firefox and it seems to have a spell-check built in. This does not mean that "too", "two" or "to" can be caught... but better than nothin'

This whole issue with the Bantam could have been solved in a few minutes especially since all were at Stowe. I just think that the car will go to "anyone but Phillip", and I guess that I too, by association, will be disqualified even though my offer above is genuine. The tone also has changed from "We are looking for someone to restore first" to "I am however, offering it free of charge to anyone". No wonder that there is confusion here. Again, it is a pity that all this had to happen when a simple confirmation at the show or a message to Phillip would have ended all this rather than a post on the site.

Graham, your Dad was caught between a rock and a hard place. I feel for him and am sorry that this has blown up around him. He is a great guy and his enthusiasm is off the charts. I just can not stand back while people are treated unfairly.

Gene A, you have every right to say what you think, as others do. At times the writing between the lines is so small that it becomes unreadable, but with the right perscription, it is clear. Time spent in the club is great... time spent attending shows and meeting people is great too. Actions usually speak louder.

Don't put words in my mouth...I NEVER said Gene could not say what ever he wanted, we (you and I) have been through this before I completely believe in free speech even to the detriment of this board as we have gone through before and is happening now.

I never said Gene could not say what he wants, I corrected Gene's incorrect belief that you (Paul) and Phillip are the only 2 that do anything for this club, he is free to think that, he is free to write that on this forum, he is incorrect if he believes it but he is free to believe it, write it and say it, all I did was correct him.

I speak very clearly and I do not mumble or write between the lines when I write or say something there is no need to have the correct prescription unlike your posts on this subject.

NOW I SAY AGAIN IF WE WANT TO CONTINUE THIS, someone open up a new thread and I will move all these posts to that thread and leave this to the Bantam so the poor Bantam thread is not highjacked. I won't create the other thread because you guys might not want to continue this.
