Hello
The N/S handbrake cam operating lever on my nine sports is contacting the chassis / inner arch on large road bumps if anyone sits in the rear seat.
So far I've found that the Andre Hartford style shock absorber is not damping at all! and that there is only 1" of movement before bumping. Following many other finds since buying a few years ago, I think it quite likely it could be mis-assembled anywhere.
Does anyone have a photo of the drum and handbrake linkage to compare please?
Thanks
Neil

Replying to myself!
Could it be that the handbrake drum lever has been inverted at some time? If so-should it bend to or away from the drum?

Re: handbrake drum cam lever
when I get home from work if no one has answered yet, I can find some pictures of when i took my car apart, I don't seem to remember the lever being above the drum, but it was decades ago I took it apart (ashamed to admit that) but at least in case my memory failed I took lots of pictures.

That should be below the drum. It's upside down.

Thanks Peter and Mike
I thought it looked wrong and the cable (albeit new) had a tortous route.
Should the cam operating arm bend away from the drum or towards?
If Away then the cam arms are either reassembled wrong for the cable retaining bolts or they've changed sides!
