Big Singer Weekend and request for Pictures

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Big Singer Weekend and request for Pictures

Post by mikeyr »

Ok, I know you all on the other side of the pond have a big weekend...May I please request LOTS of pictures, the more detailed the better for me but just pictures is ok too.

What I am trying to do is a some build some idea of how to fit the body on my 34 2-seater. I have only seen one 34 LM in my life besides mine and mine was a puzzle box with no front/rear wings so trying to fit my Hardwick wings. I know these were handbuilt and there are differences between every car, but trying to get a "average" of what they look like by seeing many of them. I had planned on being in the UK this year but family health issues have me popping over to France at least twice this year and flights are not cheap, just could not make one to UK.

For example, does the front wing stop at the seam in the body or go beyond it. I have seen it both ways. I also have seen where the wing is tucked up and against the body and where there is a gap.

On this pic being shot at ground level it clearly shows this front wing is after the gap and tucked up. It also shows the rear wing which I need to know also, does it hang below the body ? or flush with it in the front, below the rear apron ? My car had one cut up rear wing and it was about 1" below the body in the front based on original bolts but the wood was so rotten and missing that I can't guarantee that.

on this one you can see if fits up to the rear apron. Well if it is supposed to be flush with body in the front and rear...my rear wings are wrong. I will use them of course but I would like to see a lot of examples, not just one before I make final decisions. I know I am asking for details that are often different from one car to the next, just trying to see what the average is and how it looks and will try to fit my wings and other parts the same way.

Same with front end pictures, I need some to see how far the front wing goes and I have no detailed pics of a 34 Front end.

I am asking for ground level pictures and also some closer detailed pictures, but I absolutely will not be upset if you send me 1,000 pics of random cars. I will give you my email for that though :) the other pics can be posted here as they might help others in the future.
