door rollers

In the aluminium bottom for the door is a hole, looks like for a roller.
I found this hole in more 4A pictures, but never an old one with rollers.
Does anyone have a picture from this one? Is it the same as the le Mans?

Yes, its for a roller. They were not as fancy as the Le Mans ones, just a rubber roller. I think they were mainly a No. American thing since we had the heavy side curtains with glass in them instead of plastic. I assume they were added by dealers or aftermarket as I have not seen many of them. Only one of my 4AD's had them.

Mine is sold in Belgium, with a copy from the factory certificate in my house. Since 1968 as a "car to restore', imported in the Netherlands.
So at least 50+ years from the road. Matching numbers, even the right chassis number is stamped in the aluminium part under the front window.
Now the last things to do, too much clearance in the steering box, and the painting from the car.
I saw the hole on a few dutch cars, so not only American.
Mine has the glass in the side from the doors.
But never one found with the roller.
