Replacing front main bearing

Post by Gonzalo72 »

Hello guys,

Today the mechanic sent me the picture of the gearbox, as it was when he opened it. I have to say that we are very pleasantly surprised, the gearbox looks great and clean, incredible. The front main bearing is ok, but if I could find a new one, I would replace it. Any idea where to look for that bearing in the market?

Thanks a lot,

Gonzalo

I have always used this company in the UK. Very quick service. You will need the part number stamped on the original bearings or the exact dimensions. Whilst you have the box stripped down I would replace the other bearings at the same time. They usually have a choice of cheap, reasonable and 'wow that's expensive'.

Thanks Brian, this is great information. Oh yes, if I can find all the bearings, I will replace them for sure.

Thanks again,
Gonzalo
