What is John Parkers workshop called?

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

What is John Parkers workshop called?

Post by George »

Good evening all,

I'm wondering if someone can help me. I have recently spoken with Robert Elliott regarding getting my 9 gearbox looked at. He mentioned a John Parker who has experience restoring these gearboxes and I wanted to find out what his workshop is called. I have tried searching Google for his name but cannot find anything, and have checked the newsletters list of contacts to see if he appears but I can't seem to see it. I notice from searching this forum that his name has cropped up a few times and others have used his services so hopefully someone can give some information.

I'm hoping to send the car off for a few jobs to be done soon - And I'd like to put it in the hands of someone with experience of these cars so they can also give it a thorough going round.

Many thanks in advance,
George

I don't know what it’s called, or his email address, but I do have these contact numbers, from about 10 years ago.

I managed to speak with John yesterday but it seems he is inundated with work at the moment, and was reluctant to even give me an estimate for when he might be able to get mine into his workshop.

Can anyone recommend a workshop - Preferably within say 3 hours of the Vale of Glamorgan - Who you have had experience with?

List of jobs would include:

- Gearbox removal and either rebuild in house or send off to be rebuilt elsewhere
- New clutch
- Sort various oil and coolant leaks

I was thinking about sending the box to Klassik Transmissions but don't have the tools or knowledge to remove it myself and send it away, so perhaps a midlands based workshop would be a good shout so then it's only a reasonably short journey to send the box off to Klassik Transmissions.

Many thanks in advance,
George
