4AD heater ?
4AD heater ?
Could someone please tell me if this heater is a factory installed unit ? A dealer installed unit, or just some aftermarket thing ? Thanks,

aftermarket, there was no factory heater option.

Are you sure, because the heater hoses that run through the firewall next to the battery look like factory install.
And I thought heaters were optional extra add-ons ?

pretty sure no factory...I know some dealers installed heaters, the one in my 4AD was gasoline fired with a line off the fuel pump, threw that away quickly.

OK, I might just remove it completely. Have to think about not having any heat then. My top is gone so won't be driving in the cold weather anyhow.
Here are the hoses in the engine bay, they were connected to the rad hoses.

WM.... don't worry about a heater unless you live in Alaska. My 4A blasts me out with heat coming through the firewall holes for steering and peddles. Remember, these cars came about as stripped as they could get and most conveniences were added. My oldest son calls them go carts on vitamins. What do "kids" know.
