Some motorcycle tyres are usable, but in the Netherlands I can order the right ones for a big price.
For the time being, Mine is placed on motorcycle tyres from that size, when the restoration is finished, I put the right ones under the car.

Longstone tyres here in the UK, though I imagine shipping to you would be expensive!

Hey Grant,
The originals were 5.00/5.25 x 16 Goodyear All-Weather tires with a distinctive diamond style tread. it's a fairly odd size in North America.
Modern sizes tend to be larger than original tire forms and you have be careful as they will not fit into the spare wheel well and the trunk lid will not shut properly.
Coker has this size at a reasonable price that may be closer to the original form:
https://www.universaltire.com/450-475-1 ... kwall.html
Longstone are my go-to guys and they stock quite a range:
https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/tyres/500-525-16.html
But you'll have to ship from the UK. That said, you won't pay VAT.
Hope that helps!

Re: 1946 singer--need tires
Thanks, I'll be needing these myself soon. It's funny, I just moved down to VA from Lancaster, Pa and here one of these links is for a tire shop in Hershey, Pa. I can just drive there next time I'm visiting my daughter. When looking at their site, they sell the actual size tire 5.00/5.25 x16 see link. Wouldn't these be the better choice ? Or I'm I missing something. Thanks,Phillip wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 3:02 am Hey Grant,

Yes. Any of these would probably be good.
Just check the overall width of the sidewall and overall diameter to make sure they will fit in the trunk.
The Avon Tourist used to be one favoured by the late Bill Haverly, the well-known ASCO Roadster Registrar, but the budget Universal would probably be fine..
I'f the spare fits in the trunk now, I'd take that to Unversal and let them measure it up and suggest the best option.
