William,

You have a beautiful baby there. My vote would be to leave the rare badge on the car. That is what makes it very distinct from any other. My 4A doesn't have a badge nor any other holes in the back. I decided not to make any and used a rear license plate holder from a '38 Ford (they're easy to find and fit well) to attach to my bumper bolt.

I do plan on leaving the "Vaughan Singer" badge installed. But would also like the Singer Motors one as well to be installed in the center of the boot door, I guess that's the right wordage. If you look at the image, you'll see two holes there for it.

Have two questions for anyone that might know. Now that I cleaned her up some, see pics. I notice that the headlamps both say "Chicago USA" stamp on the very top of the lamp housing. Is this normal ? Or does it mean these are aftermarket ones?
Next, and up front this might be a dumb question. On the lock downs for both the bonnet and the boot door I see what looks to be like a 1/4 inch square hole, maybe for a 1/4" drive tool. Is that what I need to work these locks?

Those headlamps look to be aftermarket units. Original ones have the wiring going through the mounting post and running under the fender. Also, mine have chrome trim rings on the front, but not sure if that's standard or not

Otherwise it appears you have found a nicely complete car, which should make for a good project.

The boot and bonnet latches take a tapered square 'key' with a T handle. Used on various British machines of the period, so shouldn't be too hard to find. Or easy enough to make.

edit: I see Moss has them. Search for p/n 386-810. My original looked just like this one.

Yes I'm interested in both. By side trim your meaning the four louvres on both sides of the bonnet ?
Not sure what "Lucas king of the road headlights" are, but they sound interesting.
You can DM me if you want, and seeing a picture of them would be great, thanks.

The lucas King of the road are the name on the headlights. Yes, the trim is for the bonnet sides. It is rusty but usable. $100.00 plus shipping for everything.

Any chance you have a pic of the bonnet trim pieces, and a look at the back side of the headlight ?
I'm assuming the bulbs that fit these lamp housings is not too difficult to find ? Thanks again. Bill

the bulbs are standard lamps...or you can spice them up with tri-pod lamps, makes the car look spiffy :). but the tri=pod lamps are WOW expensive.

https://mossmotors.com/p700-tripod-head ... zbEALw_wcB

or the PL's. which is what was on my 4AD

https://mossmotors.com/pl700-tripod-lam ... 65EALw_wcB

But any 7" bulb from the auto parts store will work for far less money.

The headlights are standard 7 inch sealed beams.

I'll take the two headlamps, and the set of both bonnet side louvers with hardware / clips so to install on my auto. But not the sheet metal obviously.
If you can put these in the smallest box that would work, as they charge by weight and size on the shipping. And let me know the total cost, the $100 + shipping. Then I can DM you my shipping address. Would PayPal work for you ?
Also any chance you have the two small light fixtures on top of the front fenders ? see pic.

that PDF is one of the first things I added to main website when I redid it 2 weeks ago. Its amazing how many times that PDF has been downloaded over the decades. When I got my first 4AD back in 1974, that was all I had (I have the original from which I scanned the PDF) to take apart and rebuild my 4AD as I didn't know there was a club. I have lots more to add to the main website, I will be getting to it this weekend some more. I have 86 pages out of 369 pages, so a few to go :) and I want to add some. Even though the main website is pretty dead, this forum seems to have taken over and that is not a complaint.
