new body in the works

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

new body in the works

ok, so this is boring to all of you who have done this before...but exciting to me. The skeletal beginnings.

Looks like it will be coming in next week. Are you going Ikea flat pack or fully assembled?

While I do think assembling the puzzle would be fun, I am going for fully assembled.

Ok, progress...major progress :)

At the speed at which Colin works, I think I need to invite him over to my house to prep my chassis, the body will be ready before the chassis is :)

This also serves as a test to see if the new forum software works with images :)

NOW this is getting exciting. Unfortunately life has thrown me a curve, my daughter is moving at the end of the month, so guess who has to help her ? yup, me !! And the new place she is moving to will need lots of work, yard is disaster, but house is pretty "blah" and will need termite repairs, so less time to prep my chassis, but the Mini will be out of my garage and in a new garage to make room for my Singer so there is a benefit.

It looks almost done !!! measured my windshield and gave him the dimensions, they all differ in width a tiny bit he said.

Looks great Mike. Life always intervenes but its lovely to have such a good frame in the garage even if you can only stare at it for a while until your daughter's home is sorted out. :D My Light Six is on hold while I wait for the trimmer to take the seats (already put back by another 3 months) so i have been working on the MG TD chassis. I rather like cleaning up old metal and if you were nearer I would be delighted to come over with my angle grinder to help!

That's sad news about your Six, Colin - I told you to tackle it yourself
I was looking forward to seeing how the leather from Martrim turned out before embarking on mine. Do you think it needs doing?

at least there is plenty there for good patterns !

My LM that the body is being built for does not even have seat at all, but being a early car with bench seating, should be pretty easy to figure out. Some plywood, some foam and some leather and voila. Although I believe it originally had a air bladder, I may try that from a Morgan. I got all the back hardware from Hardwick a month ago.

There are a few details in the Hardwick's Spares Catalogue and I seem to remember a post on this forum. Try here: https://forum.singercars.com/viewtopic.php?p=7833#p7833

Thank you, I had completely forgoten that post. Based on that other post, I can start making some very rough oversized parts that will need trimming to size when the body arrives but gets me started.
