floor 4A

I try to get my floor ready, but it looks like something is wrong.
I used a part of wood to find out what fits the best , but it is not what I think it is OK
The metal strip in the middle left and right are in line with the side mounting, but all the pictures I see, has the pedals behind the wood.
And the gear box more covered.

What should be between the metal mounting and the wooden floor, and what size?

the metal strip without the temporary test wood. as you can see, the gearbox needs a cut out for the wood.
