1929 Junior Gear Box Oil Change

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

1929 Junior Gear Box Oil Change

Post by Mike57 »

So I have called this an oil change but it may well be an oil fill. I have found the drain plug, that one is obvious. What is not clear to me is where the filler plug is. I have two questions. First how much oil should it take and second is the filler plug the small bolt next to the speedo cable attachment point. As mentioned in Davids thread I will use the T90 oil.
Regards

Mike

I took the gear lever off and filled it through there Mike. If you follow this route just make sure you don't drop anything into the hole! There should be a plug in the side of the gearbox that overflows when the oil is at the right level. Messy but effective!
