Well, another British Invasion has come and gone and, although a smaller gathering than usual and with less than ideal weather, the good food and good company more than made up for it!

First off, a huge 'Thank You!' to Lori Seller for putting together a truly memorable dinner on Saturday night, as well as for providing for her room mates on Friday. The same to Nancy and David Kellogg for bringing some excellent appetizers, wine and bourbon. Lori's Bourbon Sours have now become part of Singer legend at Stowe! Lori was also key in our arrangements to get the wonderful log cabin lodge so close to the show field and I must also give a shout-out to David for stick-handling the booking for us.

The most wonderful surprise certainly had to be the appearance of Kenlis, his son Graham and Graham's daughter. I am so glad they could join us for dinner. That was a long trip for them!

Pat Desmond and the boys showed The White Lady, as usual, but Dee had to take care of her father who was rushed to hospital shortly before they were planned to depart for Stowe.

The group was rounded off by stalwart Singer supporters Rick and Judy Singer with their 4AD. They are a welcome constant at this event.

I was also very happy to see Lori's pride and joy, her immaculate '54 4AD, make light work of the 200 mile round trip as she elected to drive it down. The Singer did it without missing a beat. Since my health situation prevented me from bringing my Singer, I drove down in the Scion xB, and acted as Lori's 'wingman'. It made it a lot less stressful for her I am sure.

The most disappointing aspect was the weather, which was cold, wet and windy on the show day. Weather can be capricious around this time of year and we have had both extremes. 2018 was unusually hot!

Although our plans to celebrate “80 Years of the Singer Roadster” fizzled out, 2020 marks 20 years that Singer cars have been a key part of the British Invasion ever since we were asked to be the very first Featured Marque back in 2000, so we will be making a special effort to support that important milestone next year.

Although Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Austin-Healey are the palnned 'Featured Marques', Mike Gaetano has offered us a special "Featured Marque" again next year in recognition of our efforts over the last twenty.

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable journey home after the show and I want to thank all who attended for making the effort to join us and share some good times.

Many of us may only meet once a year as the celebration of our favourite Marque draws us together, but like all good friendships that have grown beyond just that shared interest, it always feels like we just met last weekend when we gather again.
