Hi I wonder if anyone has any records, our 34 nine sports has a newer age related plate of TSV371, but DVLA have said they will reissue the original plate if we can prove it, we have a photo when it was a year old but unfortunately the reg is not visible we think it could be OY7000-9000 ?
Chassis number is 61660 Engine Number is 54882

Re: Help finding original registration
"OY series, a series allocated to the London area"
I have a record of a 1934 2 seat LM reg no OY 8441.
So narrowing the digit series may help?

SOC and ASCO both have records covering most Nines which may help you. Are you a member of either of them?

Yes Dad is a member of SOC
Re: Help finding original registration
Suggest you contact Arthur Michell who has the records - his contact details are in the SOC club magazine. Good luck!
Re: Help finding original registration
OY was issued by Croydon between January 1931 and mid 1934; the first number issued in 1934 was 7572, so if you have a 1934 car it is more likely to have been 9000 than 7000. Unfortunately DVLA will only accept documentary evidence that links registration to chassis number so ideally you need to track down an original log book, or perhaps a sales receipt that quotes both numbers.

Re: Help finding original registration
As I understand it the clubs have the factory records that will sometimes show the dealer or first owner of the car, as well as the date of manufacture. I'm not sure about the registration but its a good place to start.

Nice original photograph! Lovely car. Are those sidescreens fully transparent?
