Wiring Colour Codes for 29 Junior

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Does this help, I have others but have to leave for a funeral, let me know. I found the “lucas” colors did vary from year to model but as long as you know your code that is all that matters. Somewhere on the net and somewhere in my papers is the “ official” Lucas code list

Oh typical Singer!

The 1936 wiring diagram is actually for the 1935 Le Mans SS ( the twin horns and magneto are a dead giveaway ) and the 1936 Nine Sports diagram is the same as the 1936 Le Mans - more or less - with a fuel gauge included as the LM doesn't have one.

1936 saw the removal of the SLC2 switch from the end of the steering column and the lighting/charging controls were included in the ignition switch on the dashboard. There was also a small ammeter below the lighting/ignition switch and a single horn on the badge bar. The LM also reverted to coil ignition.

Thanks for this information.

I have decided to follow the early Lucas colour code as it seems that there isn't one that I can find for pre 1930 vehicles. It won't be a show car anyway and I am using modern cabling not the original cloth type. A more original restoration might be done when I am retired. For now I just intend getting the cables routed the way they should be and filling in all the surplus holes that were left in the firewall from a previous restoration.

Those photos from Colin and the ones on his Junior restoration thread have been most useful so thanks for those. I picked up on a few other issues that need to be rectified with mine from those photos as well.
Regards

Mike
