I just bought a 1955 Singer 4AD SM with duel carbs. Wondering what type of fuel I should be using? Non alcohol; high octane at regular gas station; put additives into fuel? Any suggestions?

Re: Fuel for Singers
The 4AD 1500 runs best on leaded regular fuel, which isn't available any more in most regions.
Regular unleaded with a lead additive and no ethanol would be the next best option. ethanol degrades the rubber components in the fuel system.
Hope that helps!

Re: Fuel for Singers
Thanks for advising regular unleaded with lead additive and something to eliminate alcohol. I tried premium unleaded but it is making the car backfire. I’ll let you know it that resolves with lead and alcohol remover.
