Dip stick 1934 Roadster

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Dip stick 1934 Roadster

Post by darcy »

Hi could someone post a photo showing the shape and length of the original dip stick for the standard tin sump? I don’t have one and straight bar hits the crank.

Thanks

Hi Darcy, It's unlikely to be the crank. More than likely the baffle plate or the top of the oil strainer.

There is a number '9' just above the top mark. Presumably this indicates 9 pints. However I find that it takes less than a gallon (8 pints in the UK) to fill her up. :)

Thanks, 8 pints makes sense as the old manual says 1 gallon.

Made up a temp for now to those measurements and it fits perfectly, tomorrow I load the oil.
