34 Le Mans Wing / Radiator support bar

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

34 Le Mans Wing / Radiator support bar

Post by cev196 »

My Le Mans has been fitted with cycle wings with home made supports. The supports seem to pass through a hole in the radiator surround and connect to a tube which obviously needs to be removable to remount and reassemble.
Can anyone advise or post a photo of the correct arrangement / fixing that would have been original. Also what should the diameter of that tube be.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, I have mine in parts now, I will post details later today. Alas I had an original bar and a Hardwick grill, guess what? The original bar was wider than the grill, back to the lath and grinder and all well now. I just need final paint before reassembly

The bar goes across the drill and is held in place by small nut and bolt. A larger bolt goes through the bracket large holes and through the large holes in the grill and then the bracket screws on to the bolts.
