The Mysterious Singer 'Hold-Nut Spanner'...

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Here's a little Singer curiosity!

The 'Hold-Nut Spanner' is listed in the 1074cc Bantam handbook as a nifty device that replaces the wheel brace, spark plug spanner and screw driver as an all-in-one tool.

The really interesting part is that the body of the device, which is a box spanner and serves as the wheel brace, forms a magazine that the wheel nuts slide into as you take each one off so you don't lose them.

In typical Singer fashion, the handbook shows a photo of the tool being used as a wheel brace on a Bantam wheel, but the shot of it being used as a spark plug spanner is of what appears to be an 11HP or 12HP engine!

It's a pretty clever piece of kit and I wonder if anyone out there has one, or has seen one?
