A puzzle

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

A puzzle

Post by telco.2 »

Here's a pic of my latest barn find! But does anyone know its model & year? My guess is a saloon / 4 seat but not 1934 as there's no cut out for the steering column & the choke knob is fitted to the steel plate not the wood work as is more usual. Also '34's don't have cut outs at the top of the wood work.
Before you guys form an orderly queue...the rev counter was with it though missing bezel & glass. I bought it for its instruments as they are needed for my grandson's '34

I have seen a similar dash on a Riley Bill, but perhaps the instruments have a Singer logo on them?

Hi Colin,
Petrol gauge & oil pressure gauge both have Singer logo on them. They came from a "Singer source" too but that might not prove much!! Bill

Hi Bill..
My guess is a Singer Nine Coupe dash.
If you don't need the metal instrument panel and especially the spade key ignition switch I would love to buy it for my 34 Sports project!
PM me!
Cheers!

Bingo! Looks like you have found the answer Colin...well done. The absence of a cut out for the steering column really threw me. My eye sight was obviously obscured by those instruments! I'm looking forward to seeing my grandson's face later in the week :D

Hi Philip,
We've had a chat and decided that we are not going to need the dash panel and spade ignition switch ( I have a key and the switch is electrically sound) Also surplus would be the two dash lamp holders and the switch (also good electrically)
If you are interested in any / all let me know & I can send you pics. We can also sort out a price / postage etc
