I'm sure we are all concerned about the next generation of Singer owners. I'm happy to say that our 13year old grandson Sam is absolutely fascinated! He has help a great deal on the '34 4 seater with the 14hp engine which as you know is progressing well so for his birthday last month we gave him the remains of another (my last!!!) '34 9hp sports. He was over the moon and insistent that he got started straight away. As we don't have room to set the chassis up at the moment, the front axle seemed a good starting point to make sure we keep his enthusiasm on the boil. Also as I knew we'd need the exhaust manifold sooner or later that was dispatched to Cast Iron Welding services in Leicestershire. I used them on our car and they have made a great job again. It still need final cleaning up but it's good to be able to recommend an excellent service.
I'll introduce Sam to the forum soon - then he can meet the other barmy old codgers - like his grandad

Re: The next generation
That's fantastic and very encouraging news Bill!
I was about the same age when my father bought me my first Singer with the caveat that I could keep it if I got it back together and in running condition. It started a love affair with the Marque that has continued ever since!

Re: The next generation
We've been looking through the pile of assorted bits and whilst we have most of what's need to complete the car we have noticed that the main front wing supports and shock-absorber mounting wedges are absent.
We also need 1 hand brake operating cam as per photo attached and both handbrake cable levers which fit onto these cams. these are for 1934 9 sports, just to refresh your memories
I have some odds and ends of 1935 brake parts - like shoes, back plates etc which are surplus if anyone can use them
