photo of fuel cap

Post by wawagee »

Can someone please post a photo of the underside of a singer 4A 1951 roadster fuel cap ?

Does the fuel cap of another UK-car fits on this model ?

Thanks !

Hi Walter,

The petrol cap is the same design as the oil filler cap on the 1074cc engine except it does not have "OIL" debossed on the top.

Yes, it is vented.

The same cap is used on the 1933 / 37 Nine 4 seater sports and probably a number of other Singers.

Hope that helps!

Hello Walter,

Here are photos of the cap that I have on my '47 A. This is not the original however the important thing is the spring clip that hold it on plus the vent hole, as Phillip mentions.

This one is not the original however it functions the same. I added the chain so that I would not lose it should I forget to put it back or that it jiggles loose when driving.

Hope that this helps,

Paul
