Another early “Singer”

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

It looks to me as if he has fallen for the policeman, much to the surprise of his girlfriend!

That's actually John Speedwell's Riley MPH, not a Singer. The singer is a singer, but not the car.

Johnny was driving to Long Island, NY, to participate in a VSCCA track event in the early 1960s. The parade of cars going to Bridgehampton was almost more fun than the event itself. Good thing: the drive was so blasted long that something needed to make it interesting.

So many knowledgeable enthusiasts; such an ecclectic assemblage of cars! Bugattis everywhere, the odd Lagonda, even one or two of the very few Fraser Nashes in all North America ( Why do they almost never leave the UK? ) and numerous specials: the Ardent Alligator, Bentley one-offs, and the odd hot rod, open or chopped.

Those were the days!

I am amazed at such knowledge coming forth from one cartoon.
