Hi,
Does anyone know the door pocket size and shape, and where in the panel it should be placed ?
(Singer 1935 2-seater LeMans Roadster).
Any measure would help a lot !
Thanks !
Steve

check out Peter's thread "Le Mans Progress" ( viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1193 ) he has some good pics of the door pockets. His car is a 34, but should be the same for the 35

I don't believe they are but I can't say for sure, as so many reference pictures are non original. I can say that mine are correct for a '34 and am happy to provide measurements if you deem them to be correct for a '35.

Ok, Steve. I can probably scan the pocket at its real size and provide dimensions for positioning it on the door panel.

Steve,

Here are your measurements. Mike, you need them as well.

The drawing is traced from mine and should appear full sized in the scan. In case it doesn't, it should be 3.5" high and 9.25 wide as noted on the drawing. Measuring from the top of the door panel there should be a distance of 7". Similarly to the front it should be 4.5". Front and back should be parallel to the panel edges.

Hello Peter

Thanks for the information on the Le Man's door pockets which should come in useful in the not too distant future for my LM restoration (the pictures of your lovely car are certainly an inspiration for me to get a move on). Do the pockets just open straight into the interior of the door exposing the aluminium skin, or is there some sort of internal box construction?

Kind regards
David in Spain

Per the originals, I made two stops about 1" square to fit between the inside of the door panel and the door skin. Note the countersunk screws on the door panel securing them. The shadowing shows the placement of the stops. You will have to taper the bottom stop to conform to the curve of the door panel. I will cover these with vinyl as well as glue a piece of vinyl to the inside face of the door skin.
