1952 4AD parts.

Post by Oldwhtboy »

Anyone near Bakersfield Ca and need parts for a 1952 4AD? I bought the car to fix but unfortunately it was in way worse shape than I thought. Now I am having to move and no longer have the room for it. I hate the thought of hauling it all to the scrap yard. Car is in pieces not put together. I do not have a title for it, never got that far in the process.

unfortunately scrap yard it probably will be. I took to the scrap yard, 4 4AD motors, 9 front wings, 7 rear wings and 2 bodies about 10 years ago along with many other parts. I offered them for free and once people found out the shipping costs, they were not interested. I still have pictures of that very sad day. I just didn't have the room to keep the parts and wanted to get rid of them but no one wanted to pay shipping.

I am in Santa Barbara, I do have space now so if someone wants the stuff but you can't move it quick enough, I can pick it up and store it, but not for years :)

So,

My friend and I drove to Bakersfield, CA from Kingman, AZ to pick up this pile of parts. If you can believe it; it once was a 1952 Singer 4 AD. There are some good parts, but most of it will be going to the scrap yard. Engine block is cracked. P.O. cut the frame in half because it was bent. It was free
so worth the 11 hour drive and gas money.

Ok, I am stumped. The rear axle out this pile of parts only has 3 wheel studs. I have never seen this before. The front hubs have 4. I have nothing to compare it to because my 1952 AD has a Ford axle in it.

Also, all of the shock mounts and other brackets appear to be stock.

well 3 lug is not a Singer axle, since you said the shock mounts look right, it could be that someone just put in different axle shafts into the original axle.

Mike,

I took a better look and I can see where someone has welded the spring perches on. I am still wondering what car had 3 axle studs.
