Hardwick's in the UK supply a petrol/oil cap for the pre war cars which is interchangeable. Unfortunately they are not shipping anything at least until the new year.

Thanks, Phillip.

Sometime back I had fabricated a new tank suitable for the 4AD filler neck and cap I purchased from USA. The previous owner of my car had installed a crude petrol tank with a small cap that was housed inside the luggage boot. I was under the impression that a rubber hose was used for the connection till you pointed out the actual design for A Series!

I think I will continue with this design till I go for a stainless steel petrol tank sometime in the future. My only worry is whether the cap and filler pipe will fall down if the hose clamp or the hose itself breaks! So for the time being, I am thinking of adding a small bracket to fasten the filler tube to the body or chassis. But a photo of the A Series design is always welcome :)

Possibly, next month I am planning to go to UK for higher studies. UK is the best place to source Singer spares though unfortunately our former Registrar, the late Trevor Cornelius is no more. I had purchased several hard to find spares from Trevor in the early 2000s. In fact, in 2005 or so he had offered to sell me the entire Girling mechanical brake links and fittings for a very competitive price as nobody wanted them. My car is currently fitted with hydraulic brakes, one of the conversions made by the previous owner in the 1980s. As I thought that the postage was too expensive for my pocket, I had told him that I will buy these later on a visit to UK so that I can carry them in person to India. But unfortunately, it never happened and now it is too late!!

Mohan

I have one original, and one spare for a Morris Minor MM from around 1951 for my both 4A's.
This one is only a straight type, but he is usable, and it's not visible from the outside if it is an original or not...
