Just bought 2 singers need help. I have tons of parts
I just bought 2 singers. Not sure what they are yet. I will post pics tomorrow. I got tons of extra parts including a full extra frame. Where can I find Identification numbers, tags, vin. Numbers? I got no titles. I have enough parts to build a couple cars. I have enough fenders for 4 cars. Included a rebuilt motor.

what is your location?
And are they LHD or RHD?
hydraulic brakes or mechanical front brakes?
And with the chassis numbers or pictures we can identfy them maybe a little

I found the frame numbers but the body tags are missing. How do I know the year of my cars? The one I intend to restore is L4ad2061V. At least I think it was a V.
Re: Just bought 2 singers need help. I have tons of parts
At least it is for sure a 4AD, the V is from 1951 or 1952, but above 4AD1980 is a 1953 W in Europe, so it is possible yours should be a W.
As far as I understand the W is from October 1952 to October 1953.
I have a 4A U number from October 1950, model year 1951, and a T number from January 1950.
It is possible to get Heritage documents, mine are on the way.
And gearbox, axle's, and bodynumbers are written on these documents as far as I understood.
Just like the day of export from the factory.
Hope this helps a little

That helps a lot. How do I get Heritage documents and where might I get a replacement name and number plate?

Re: Just bought 2 singers need help. I have tons of parts
http://www.singercars.com/4ax/dating.html will explain the years.
I remember that when I got my 4AD in the 70's it was stamped with a V for 1952 but in reality was a 1953 and should have had a W. This was back when you could write to Chrysler UK and ask for build info prior to them giving all the records to the UK Singer club, there was a letter from Singer stating that my car was a 53 and mis-stamped at the factory, so it happened for my car, easily could have happened for other cars. You get the build specs from the UK club now, not sure who but its available and someone here will let you know.

Hi I am rebuilding a 1953 4AD Roadster, hood framework or side screens are all missing, do you have any spare ones that you would be willing to sell any condition. I also need manifold for twin carbs. Thanks Allan

I have a 1952 4AD roadster. I'm in search of the canvas top bows. Do you have a set that you're willing to sell? Also, I'm looking for the tire pump. Duane Ellis (703)517-4809
