Hi could someone post a photo showing the shape and length of the original dip stick for the standard tin sump? I don’t have one and straight bar hits the crank.

Hi Darcy, It's unlikely to be the crank. More than likely the baffle plate or the top of the oil strainer.
There is a number '9' just above the top mark. Presumably this indicates 9 pints. However I find that it takes less than a gallon (8 pints in the UK) to fill her up.

Thanks, 8 pints makes sense as the old manual says 1 gallon.
Made up a temp for now to those measurements and it fits perfectly, tomorrow I load the oil.
