Nine sports - fuel gauge

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Nine sports - fuel gauge

Post by nth »

The fuel gauge (broken) inherited with my '33 sport is a Smiths X49422/128. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Some other gauges have turned out to be ex-Jaguar! Not needing to be purist but functional for now.
Have use a Smiths branded (but otherwise the same as Jaeger) Tacho/ clock (modern guts) since the car had a non functioning Smiths E-Type induction unit in the dash!

Thanks

Hi Neil

The fuel gauge in my car is an AC brand as is the unit in the tank. That is what Singer used.
If you have a different brand but it works well then I would stick with it.
If the gauge or tank unit fails then VDO can supply replacements/

Thanks for the confirmation
