Front wheel bearings

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

Front wheel bearings

Post by mothy »

My '34 SLM passed its annual UK annual MOT safety test yesterday.
I had a couple of "advisories", steering wheel free play - well what does one expect?
Also one of the front wheel bearings has some play, mmm maybe.

Anyhow I don't seem too easily find any details about front wheel bearing replacement, or what type of bearings they are, taper or not.

Can anyone advise please?

I am sure I can figure it out myself, but it is nice to know what one is up against prior to disassembly.

Thanks

Roly

last set I got from Dave H. were NOT tapered bearings, looked like normal bearings to me.

Just a straight bearing, readily available. I recall it being an RMS 8 or 10
