car is falling apart faster than I can take it apart

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

I guess I should have told you that Mike. They didn't use forms. I remember my Vietnamese upholsterer complaining about that when he made my top, " car no good, righ side no match lef"

I knew they were handbuilt and each one is different but I expected that for the wheel wells they had forms at least.

oh well, they were handbuilt so I will handbuild mine.

well I spent the day resawing Ash boards and making a form, laminated it all up and now I have a fender wheel well.
The fender form and some of 1/8" thick Ash on top

believe it or not, I needed more clamps

yes, quite a pain. I can get 5 1/8" boards out of a 1" thick board by the time I resaw it and plane it. With the new 3/4" blade I got for xmas, I think I will be able to get 6 boards because the blade will flex less on the band saw when I do the left fender well.

Mike,

Reminds me of when I redid the 4AD 's inner fender well wood. I made the form and it was light. Yes I needed a lot of clamps and it took 2 people to move it!!!!
