Singer classified ads

Post by GeneA »

Mike:

Will the Singer classifieds be transfered to the new forum or will they stay on the main Singer page? I noticed no new ads have been placed. Is this section closed for now?

temporarily closed, it has all the old ancient ads from car dealers etc. that I used to go and clean up regularly, but they were in the backups so they are their now.

I am working on it, I am trying to have it in BOTH places, here on this forum and there in the ads section (of course having the same advert in both) but it is harder than I thought to do. Over the holiday it will be finished.

Classifieds is working again, I cleaned up ALL the old ads, SPAM and all and its working again, including the deleting of ads after 90days. I am giving up temporarily on making it work with this board, which brings up the question.

Should I remove the classifieds section and make a section here for classifieds instead ? I could make it so that any one can post so that people do not have to register (classifieds only) and have auto-delete dates, the way it works on this board if it is enabled, a post is deleted X days after the last post.

For me, I much prefer the old classifieds system (I wrote it so I am biased) especially now that I have made the auto-delete work. But this forum has a lot pluses also, like pictures ! you can now post a picture of the car or part you have for sale if I use this board.

How about a quick informal vote on which system please !
