Here's a much better looking image - Tony Raynor's Le Mans at the 2004 Show. And oddly enough, my old MG YB was there as well

Mike,
You the man, man.
Once the organizers see all the Singers, and what a great group we all are, they will bend over backwards next time! It took us a while with the guys from Stowe, but they are totally on side with the Singer crew.

Dave,
That would be great! With all the pre-war cars expected, a post-warrior would be nice. As with any event, all Singer enthusiasts, with or without cars, are welcome!
If you are going to be there, just a reminder to register and pop an e-mail to Mike or Tony. They are the local contacts and would love to hear from anyone planning to attend.

Re: Queen's English - Van Nuys, Calif. March 8th
I have spoken with Tony who really wants me to bring my 1.5 there but the show organizers are not making it sound very easy. They don't mind trailers but the cars have to driven onto the field and it would be quite a long ways to push it since they wont allow the trailers on the field. You unload in a parking lot and drive the car onto the field.
So I will be there !!! but I think without car, sorry guys, I just am not up to trailering my car is a little over 100 miles and then pushing it that far for a show.
Another reason is that this past weekend I moved my garage from the old house to the new house and Holy Cow Poop I have a LOT of junk, even though the new garage is quite a bit bigger than the old one all I have left is a few goat paths to kind of move around the garage with. The old garage was fairly well organized and in the new one, EVERYTHING is on the floor right now, its going to take longer than I anticipated to get it to a working garage state, first step is build lots of shelves. I had hoped to be working on my car again within a month or so but now I realize its going be a few months, taking the 1.5 to a show is just not a priority, sorry guys. I do realize we needed to make a impression at the show and I for one like to fly the Singer banner high and proud but not this time.

Goat paths indeed. I have no sympathy for you guys with your California garages. Check out Steve Simmons' garage makeover at http://www.mgnuts.com/img/garage.jpg . HJY 566 is my old MG YB

Hey Mike,
I got an e-mail from the folks at Auto Books Aero Books, who organise the show, saying they would allow non-running cars, either under restoration or original 'barn finds for us'. They wanted someone to coordinate our group to be on the site by 7:30am then would allow trailers on the field to unload non-running cars, but that said trailers had to off the field by 9:00am.
I had contacted them for more details to be included in the eNEWS Xtra, etc.
Wonder why you are getting a hard time from them!! They seemed very keen to see a strong Singer presence.

I spoke with them on the phone yesterday...
Trailers will be allowed on the field but as Phil said must be off by 9AM. If I leave my house by 5:30 AM I should have no problem getting there on time and unloading. Tony will help push the car !!!
SO I ASK AGAIN who is going !!! so far its Tony and I with cars and Phil and Paul (May I assume you are bringing cars also ) without cars, is that it ???

Mike,
Count me in on the "Pushing Gang". I was a recipient of a friendly push a few years ago at Stowe, so any opportunity to pay it forward.
See you there!

Re: Queen's English - Van Nuys, Calif. March 8th
Hey Mike,
We'll be in the pushing crew!
Last I heard, Lex Dupont is bringing his HRG, Ron Stauber is bringing his '33 Sports via Morgans West, who will display it as a restoration in progress and we are really hoping that the Mistretttas will bring their Coupe, although no confirmation on that yet. Tony also had another Singer-owning friend who will be coming, but his car, a 4A, may not be ready to bring by March 8th. Paul has also been talking to a guy up near Frisco with a 4A who wanted to come, but his wife is very ill. He's the guy Paul is getting the tyres from.
Do you know where the ex-Wheatley Senior As-U-Dryv is now? I thought that was in SoCal?
Fingers crossed...a West Coast event at last!!
