Transmission cover

Post by ggvette »

My restoration is nearing completion, so I will have to deal with the missing transmission cover soon. I have tried the regular sources with no luck, including the UK.

I am sure I could fabricate one if I had some good pictures to refer to.

Has anyone else attempted this or does anyone have a suggestion?

I would likely use fibreglas.

Thanks! :D

Corey (a long ago NASOC President) made fiberglass covers from a original rubber cover, they look great and perform even better. Unfortunately that was back in the 70's. My 4AD has one of those covers, perhaps you could talk to the new owner about getting the cover for a mold. He is in Vermont or someplace cold like that. I don't have his contact info with me but I can get it.

Mike,
I bought a fiberglass transmission cover from Bill Haverly a couple of years ago. He might still be a source.

Good Luck,
