What do the pipe in the inlet manifold do ?

Its the pipe conected in the inlet manifold , just above where the inlet and exhaust manifolds is bolted together.
I only have a picture , where its seems that the pipe is routed down behind the genarator .

any have an answer to this ?

Mike,

I believe it is a fuel bleed off if the carb (s), perculate over. This helps on hot starts so the engine does not have to crank excessively (clear flood). The 4 AD has this tube. Very small like 1/8".
