Singer pictures from personal archives

For now, I lumped all the pre-war cars together, I would LOVE for there to be enough demand to split it into groups (hint...hint, post here about your pre-war Singer)

I don’t know if this suggestion is within the forum’s rules, but you can save lower resolution copies to an iPad etc, but otherwise I don’t think I would order any, pity there are some great scenes.

Rules ? what's that ?
I don't have a lot of "formal" rules for the forum, basically no name calling and treat your fellow Singer'ite like you would like to be treated, that is about it for the rules of the forum. Oh yeah, this is a G-rated forum, no porn. Ok, one more, no advertising unless it is very specifically Singer related and I am the final judge on that one, well realistically I am the final judge on all of the rules. But I really don't like rules :D

Hello

It is great to see all of these original pictures of Singers. I have attached some pictures of my car competing in 1934 owned and driver by D. E. Harris. I have also taken a photo of an oil painting that a friend did for me and of the car itself. I hope you enjoy.

David

P.S if anyone has any history of the car they can share with me it would be much appreciated

Nice car David...I love a KV number. Your car was registered on 30/12/33. With a last recorded owner of A J Power from Cheshire (31/5/65). I believe KV7023 (registered 8/12/33) was going to be a private entry into the Monte Carlo Rally- this car has also survived. I have KV9795 by the way; and presently recommissioning after 10 years off the road.

Hello Danish

Thanks for the details. My car competed in both the RAC Rally and Monte Carlo Rally in 1934. Dave Harris unfortunately had to retire from the Monte after his fuel tank was spiked with sugar.
Do you think there might have been some assistance given by Singer to these two cars entering this event ?.

Hello David

I have just realised who you are (I think !)

I bought the fuel tank for my car off you a long time ago on Ebay.

I have no information on this car, but presumably a Nine from the 1934-35 period:

Doesn't look like a Singer to me Mike. The Lemans and Nine Coupes have a different body shape.

I can't find an image to match it in the book i have on airline cars. The way the screen is faired into the scuttle is quite unusual.

A rare 1934 1 1/2 Litre Sports registered in Glasgow. Later owned by the Gibsons.
