Singer Sensation at Stowe 2013 Official News...

Post by Phillip »

Fall is fast approaching and so is the annual Singer Sensation at Stowe!

September 20th to September 22nd

2012 was a record-setting event for the Marque with 22 cars on the field, so we look forward to your support and participation again this year for our 13th Singer Sensation at Stowe. Singer cars have become a firm fixture at the British Invasion, as well as a crowd favourite. You will be assured a warm reception!

After the extremely popular ‘History of Singer’ museum as Featured Marque last year, we now turn our attention to celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the introduction of the Singer Nine sports cars.

If you are attending this year, be sure to pre-register for the event on the British Invasion website, where you can pay by Pay Pal, or, if you prefer, download and print the form, fill it in, and send it with your cheque. Last minute arrivals must register on the Friday before the Saturday show day or you will not be allowed onto the field!

Details of the show are here:

http://www.britishinvasion.com

Pre-registering also helps the Invasion organisers know how many cars are coming and whether or not there are enough cars to create more than one class for awards. Last year, with 22 cars attending we were able to introduce a Pre-War class and a Post-War class, rather than just one ‘Singer’ class. We need to have three pre-war and three post-war Singers pre-registered in time for the Event to have two classes for the show, so if you are going, please pre-register!

The forms to download to pre-register are here:

The schedule for our events is as follows:

Friday, September 20th: 11:00am: Ballam Rally:

A great driving tradition – last year we had 12 cars!

Start: Golden Eagle Resort 1867 Farmhouse Parking lot, corner of Mountain Road and Weeks Road.

End: British Invasion Show - Snowflake Resort Field- for wine & cheese, plus last-minute registration if required.

Evening: Stowe British Invasion Street Party. Let's get a convoy of Singers to go en mass!

Saturday, September 21st: Main show day:

Show day:

On the field to set up and arrange cars by 9:00am latest please!

Singer Sensation Dinner:

Golden Eagle Conference Center: 8:00pm

Price will depend on the numbers attending.

Pizza, nibbles and great conversation!

Sunday, September 22nd: Second Show Day:

Come and support the competition of Colours, Tailgate picnic and much more. Singers have won in many of these in the past so don’t be shy to enter!

Bring your Singer and enjoy the fun. If you can’t bring your car, just bring your Singer enthusiasm and enjoy the company of like-minded friends…

We look forward to seeing everyone again.

Just look for The Men in White!!

NOTES:

The location of the British Invasion has changed for 2013. It is now at the Snowflake Resort Field, 2 miles north of Stowe Village on Route 108 ( Mountain Road), corner Cape Cod Road.

If you are attending our events, please contact us so we can plan accordingly, especially for the Rally and Dinner!

UPDATE:

Due to the lack of pre-bookings for the Ballam Rally, this activity is CANCELLED for this year.

We will meet on the show field Friday afternoon to assemble the display and enjoy the wine and cheese. The organisers have asked us to put together the display after lunch Friday in order to help them with the logistics of setting up the field.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Well, we're back from the Singer Sensation at Stowe...2013 edition...and what it lacked in numbers was more than made up for with adventures!

This year we saw 3 1/2 cars and 19 members and friends gather on the field at the British Invasion to celebrate the Singer Marque. A modest showing after last year, to be sure, but no-one was complaining as we enjoyed good weather on the main show day and good company all weekend.

The display theme was a nod the the Singer factory and 80 years of the Singer sports cars with Paul Bouchard's Le Mans making it's debut as a car under construction.

The Men in White were in evidence as always, and our class winners were Pat and Dee Desmond with their gleaming white 4AD Roadster.

Dinner was also enjoyed at the Golden Eagle Conference Center, where the gang sampled the Tarta family's special Singer beer...another NASOC first!

Look for the full story in issue 5-2013 of NASOC NEWS and we are sure other attendees will be posting photos...

REMEMBER 2014 is NASOC's 40th Anniversary so if you missed this year, plan to attend our party in 2014!
