Ottawa British Car Day

Post by Peter McKercher »

The Ottawa British Car Day was held today and is certainly maturing into a significant event with attendance consistently in the 200 car range. The venue is lovely on a promontory jutting into the Ottawa river. Remarkably, this year there was about 20 extra feet of beach due to a lack of rainfall. Lots of interesting and well restored cars - Bentleys, Rollers, a plethora of XK Jags from the '50s through the '90s, tons of Morgans and MG T's. Attendees showed superb taste by voting Singer into First Place in the People's Choice.

Sadly my wife had my camera to take pictures at her neice's first birthday party. Quite selfish on her part. However, event pictures will appear at http://www.britishcarday.ca/ in the near future. By the way, MG was the featured marque this year. How sweet it is.

For some odd reason, the Ottawa All British Car Day has been dropped from the NASOC Calendar of Events. Please note that the event is proceeding as it does every year. It will be held Saturday, July 20th at the usual venue on the shores of the Ottawa River at Britannia Beach Park - Lakeside Gardens. See details at http://www.britishcarday.ca
