Stowe 2010

Post by Paul Bouchard »

Stowe is fast approaching and remember that all who plan to pre-register that your forms must arrive by September 5th. Registration may also be done on the Friday prior to the show day on Saturday.

Dates are:

Ballam Run: Friday September 17th
British Invasion show day: Saturday September 18th
NASOC Club Dinner; Saturday September 18th

As usual this is a casual fun event. Our get together on Saturday evening is for pizza and conversation. Bring friends, beverages and stories!

If you are planning on attending please let either me or Phillip know so that we can plan accordingly. We will have another club display set up and expect that Singers will be front and centre at the event as we have been for the past few years thanks to the British Invasion show coordinators.

Here is a link to the pre-registration: http://www.britishinvasion.com/britishform.html

For fun, check out the bottom of this page on the British Invasion site to get an idea of what we do! http://www.britishinvasion.com/photo_archive.htm

Hope to see you there!

Just a warning.. Book your hotel now. I booked at my usual spot today and found there was only one room available.

Do not forget to register for Stowe!

Still plenty of time to get your name in. FYI the "sign-up present" for the first 300 registrants is a British Invasion 20th anniversary car badge. That'll look nice next to my 10th anniversary badge ;)

See you there!

Paul

Looking back, I have been to more than half of the British Invasion shows! Seems like only yesterday I was putting whipped cream on my hamburger at the Singer Club meeting at Commodore's Inn. Memories and heartburn.

Well, we have arrived intact to yet another Stowe British Invasion!

The ride down was relaxed and enjoyable but now we are in for the evening as rain has set in. Not to worry, it is supposed to clear for the event.

This is a bit of a special Stowe as it marks 10 years of attendance for NASOC. We started as the very first Featured Marque back in 2000. The Invasion also celebrates its 20 year anniversary this time.

Look forward to seeing everyone!

We're Back from Vermont with some great stories and some good memories!

Teamwork won us some great kudos at Stowe this year: A 1st in class in the Concours, 3 class wins in the Singer category, 2 wins in the Contest of Colours and, of course, the Club Participation Award for our 'Coventry Blitz' display.
We are a small, but mighty club indeed!

To be fair to everyone who promised, as soon as all the contributors send us their photos, we'll start posting them along with more details.

Stay tuned!

Wow! Phil! Thanks for the post on the bulletin board of my little 4AD! I feel honored to have made the cut of what I'm sure are hundreds of photos of the Stowe event. I absolutely enjoyed meeting the Singer crowd and enjoyed the club display (and congrats on taking first in that category as well!) on Saturday. It was a well oiled machine that put the display together! My wife is already working on me for a return trip to Stowe next year as she now feels very left out. I think the Singer marque won more awards this year at Stowe than any other marque. We had a very strong showing. I look forward to meeting more Singer owners in the future--especially if they're all as nice as the people I met in Stowe.

Hey Craig,

My pleasure! What an amazing effort you made just coming this time. To repeat it next year will be amazing!

Thanks also for the very positive feedback, we're pleased you enjoyed yourself and felt in good company. That's what it is really all about. BTW, to be fair, I didn't take a first in class...I got third, but who's counting..it's all for fun! :D

And now, here are a few more 'Snaps from Stowe'...

More to come!
