Hey Dave,

Good question!

Paul and I will have to catch the 'red-eye' overnight flight back to Montreal, so we do have the early evening free. The show will wrap up by 5:00pm.

I guess it is up to our co-roganisers, Tony and Mike to give us some suggestions as they are the local boys...

well is anyone showing up on Saturday ? I could see a dinner happening. I had initially thought of a BBQ at my place but its not in L.A. near the show so I think no one would show up, perhaps something in L.A. would get Tony and the locals there. Some S.Calif. people hate to drive :)

I will speak to Tony and report back ASAP

Mike,
I was planning on leaving Saturday and staying the night about 1-2 hours from LA. I did not have anywhere specific in mind. Somewhere I would feel comfortable parking the Singer overnight. At least this way I would not have to get up so early to get to the show on time. A visit to your house could be arranged. It would be great to see your toys. I will have the girlfriend with me.

I am about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours away from the show depending on traffic, about an hour on the motorcycle since its only 80 miles away.

I tried to talk to the L.A. folks last night to see if they were interested in driving up to Santa Barbara the day before but no info yet. From past history, I am going to guess I will have to drive down on to L.A. for a Saturday event and then again on Sunday for the show.

Paul, Phillip, Dave (Green) when are you 3 arriving ? is there enough people/momentum for a Saturday DAY something to be planned or just a Saturday evening dinner somewhere ?

Hey Mike,

Our flight gets into LAX around noon on the Saturday. We are just starting to work out the logistics of our travel.

Should have more details by the weekend.

Keep the weather sunny side up!! :D

Cheers,

Time is getting near... when are Les Boys getting into S. Calif. and do they want to drive up to SB or am I driving down ? Dave is waiting on a answer if I will be home or not on Saturday. Right now my plan is to get my trailer pulled out of the mud early Sat. morning, check it out, should not need anything I packed the bearings before a big trip recently, then pull the motor out of the LM and load it onto the trailer. That should take me into early afternoon when I would need to fire up the BBQ or get on the road for a L.A. dinner with the Singer crowd.

If we do something in L.A. we have a chance of gettting Tony and Lex at the dinner.

Speaking of Dave's, is the other Dave coming ?

Mikey,

Great news to hear that things are coming together.

Our plan is to take the usual early Saturday flight that gets into LA @ noon. Lex is working Saturday, but free Saturday evening and Steve Crisham is also coming to the show and I think is available Saturday night. I haven't heard anything from Tony. I don't know if Jonas is coming this time either. I guess we need to decide where is the easiest place for the most people to meet: LA or SB.

Our problem is shaping up to be space on the flights. They are very full. We'll have a better idea by Wednesday as we have to rent a car and get a hotel.

BRG has regrettably advised that he cannot attend this time...but one day we're gonna get him there!!

Keep that sun shining in Burbank! :D

Its been raining non-stop for the last few months here but weather man says we are good to go for a cool sunny day. Bring a jacket it is not supposed to get above mid-60's (right now they are saying 68 but its many days away), with a full week of no rain the field should at least be dry.

Cool day eh? Well I remember the morning last year... BRING A JACKET!! The rest of the day was great though.

I have to say that logistics for those of us traveling from Montreal is looking grim. Flying on a space-available priority is getting tougher all the time and so far there are but 6 seats left on the return (all-night) flight. For those needing to be back to work by some time on Monday... that is a slim margin. Not to say that I will keep a pulse on the matter and send a request through channels for a larger aircraft on the return.

From the looks of things there will be a few cars and enthusiasts there! My bags are already packed in anticipation of a rosier outlook in the next couple of days. Men-in-White suit is in there too.

Kudos to Mike for offering up his BBQ. I may only be able to confirm on Friday, but sounds appetizing!

Hope to see you there!

Here's to a great day and lots of fun at the Queen's English!

Sadly, I won't be there :(

Flight loads are high so available seats are gone and with that my chances of getting there and back.

I did get a call from Tony Raynor and it looks like a few Singer cars and NASOC members will be in attendance, so if you are in the area it is worth a visit. Last year we saw Jay Leno, although in a rush to get home so no time to look at the majestic Singers parked almost right in front of him! Good thing since with his collective nature he would be hard pressed to wrench a car away from those owners in attendance :)

Have fun guys and take lots of photos! A group shot or two for the mag and a few words too.

There is always next year!

Hey Folks,

Like El Presidente says...sorry we won't be there. I had been looking forward to it and it sounds like NASOC will be well presented at the show! The organisers were keen to see us back.

Please do take some shots for NASOC NEWS..a group shot and a vertical shot for the cover would be especially appreciated!

Have fun! Drive safe! Viva la Marque!

Well, I'm sitting here in front of my PC instead of sitting in LA somewhere having a meal and a glass of wine getting geared up for the show. CRAP!

Don't worry Mike, I spoke to Tony @1:00am our time early this morning. He's bringing both the '35 Coupe and the '36 Le Mans. With Dave and Lex, you have a good turn-out of cars and Steve Crisham is also going to turn up. Watch out also for Peter Lee, a Canuck NASOC member from Vancouver BC. He has a 4AD project, but is also into MG's. He will be stopping by.

Please try to get a group photo of all of the above. We usually find planning a time for everyone to show up for the photo works well at Stowe.

Have fun! Wish we could be there. We'll try again next year!

yes we had quite a few people show up, Peter did show up along with Joe from Fillmore (without car) and the guys from Morgan West spent a good half hour taking my LM apart and taking pics. It was FUN and nice day for the show.

Unfortunately, even with our best planning, no one was around for the group picture so just the car owners.
