Hello 2010! Car Show our west anyone???

Post by Paul Bouchard »

Greetings and a Happy New Year!

2010, heck I am still signing my cheques with 2009.

One of the earliest car shows of the season is the Queen's English in the Los Angeles area. As you may remember there were 3 Singers on the field, all pre-war I may add, and as usual many visitors with Singer stories of their own.

If you are in the area, or planning to be, the show is on Sunday March 14th starting at 9:00 AM. Mike and Tony were getting things together last year and may just be there again this year!

Here is the link for the show, and hope to see you there!

I'm looking forward to the Queens's English 2010!

Here's hoping we'll see Tony and Anna, Mike R, The Chrishams, The Duponts and, of course, Jonas Waxman there again.

Anyone else thinking of attending? How bout you Dave Green? Pim maybe???

I am undecided about this show this year.

I WILL be there but I may be there without a car, last year for me was disastrous and I did no work on my Singer's, so if I bring the 1.5 it will be in the same state as last year and there is quite a bit of work to do to the LM to be able to put it on a trailer and bring it. Might be interesting to bring the LM and show off its woodwork, etc. but not very interesting to most people and I would have to remove the motor first as it would fall out on the trailer (it almost did on the way to the new house) or finish welding up the motor mounts :)

Hey Mike,

Well, as we always say, car or no car- turning up is the important thing.

That said, with 2 months to go, I'd say put that beautiful new garage space to work, weld in the motor mounts and bring the LM. I for one would love to see it and I know people often find unrestored and part restored cars more fascinating that the finished ones. We used to have to beat back the crowds every time Robert turned up with his half finished Roadster and my Bantam wreckage was a focal point at Beaconsfield last year. Everyone wanted their picture taken with it!

Come on Mikey!! :D

Here is an incentive for all of those Singerites who are thinking of attending. I will be there with my V-6AD. Anyone wishing to drive a V-6 powered AD is welcome to give it a try!

Hey Dave!!

EXCELLENT! Count me in!!

OK...I won't have a car there since I will be coming from Montreal, so I'd take a ride in a V6 MonsterSinger for sure! :D

Would you be interested in sending an article and some photos of your car for NASOC NEWS!!???

Cheers,
Phillip

Cool... if a V6 4AD can show up, so can a A-series powered Le Mans but I wont offer a ride or drive to anyone yet, only because it does not run yet

This is sounding VERY tempting... you may have to count me in too! Sans car unfortunately due to the carry-on baggage rules ;)

NOW we're talking!

Way to go, Mike! I dibs a sit in, on or around the Le Mans too!

So we could see a V6 Roadster, An A-Series Le Mans, a Singer powered HRG and a "36 Le Mans with a trick water pump!

That's 4 already!!!

I formally registered for the Queens show, so a V6AD will be there. I have been making improvements to cut down on the air coming in all of the little cracks and crevices. This will definitely help in case of rain. It is ready to go.

Hey Dave,

Great news! Really looking forward to seeing the V6 beastie!

Hope the weather is kind. I'm betting it's going to be better than up here in Canada! LOL.

yeah, yeah, I have to change the home page and get some info up about the show, I am weeks behind but my garage is painted and the
Singer's are out of the rain (its amazing how much rust they got in only 2 weeks in the rain under a cover). Home page blurb about the show is next.

Hwy Mike,

How's that song go...

"It never rains in California, but, boy, don't they warn ya, it pours, man it pours"

Glad to hear that you've got the Singers under cover.

Look forward to the Q E blurb on the home page.

Is there going to be any activities after the Queen's show? I will be driving about 350 miles to get to the show, so I wanted to know what to plan for.
