Re: Canadian Concours d'Elegance
It was a surreal show! The quality of the cars was incredible. Many of the guests and visitors were dressed up, and yes, the Men in White were there too. The whole thing made for a nice atmosphere. This was not a drop in and park your car show, all entrants were invited from Quebec and Ontario, it was nice to see that a Singer made on the list, never mind winning an award.

Re: Canadian Concours d'Elegance
Hey Mark
Coming form a multi-concours winning Singer owner, I thank you for the praise.
I am not a concours guy, but the organising committee for this event was pretty persistant! it was an invitation-only affair to feature 100 of the best cars from Quebec, Ontario and the eastern USA.
I would never have thought of winning an award of this calibre, but we did and, as the judges handed over the lovely glass and aluminum sculpture trophy they whispered, "and it was unanimous with the judges". Wow! If you read the article via the link in Paul's post, they were some heavyweights in the car world too! As Paul says, it was very surreal. My greatest pleasure came from people with megabuck cars coming over before the show opened saying, "this is such a lovely original car..so rare these days".
The trophy was presented with a rosette and a lovely bouquet of flowers (which pleased Andrea when I got home!) In addition we got a pretty full goodie bag, with Le Mirage wine, a variety of Rene and Celine Dion stuff...books, DVD's and perfume, etc, plus the very nice sign that was made up for each car including its history and details on the Marque. Access to the feild was limited to 2000 people and many had never seen a pre-war Singer before, so it was great to be able to promote the Marque and NASOC
I'll post photos when I get them from the official photogrpher

Re: Canadian Concours d'Elegance
Thanks Dave, Mark and everyone,
Photos and videos are now appearing on-line and I was totally blown away by the Youtube segment. Of all the presentations in the show, the video is of 'The Little Blue Car' getting her award.
Unreal!
