FYI, there is a nicely done vignette set to music on Utube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5JBM5ps8AA which covers last year's Invasion including shots of our cars and display.

If you are pre-registered, then you may have gotten a note from Mike (Anthony) Gaetano concerning Friday night festivities.
Main Street will be blocked off with parking limited to registered Brit cars and the festive market atmosphere will be enhanced with music from some Beatle wannabe's. Sounds Fun !!
I'm sure you guys have already explained to Ed Ballam that if he intends to travel around on two wheels, he should consider buying a Singer Motorcycle. . . .and speaking of Ed, Liz and I would have to be on the road at 6 AM to be there for a 10 AM Ballam rallye . . .not bloody likely.
See you there.

Thanks Dave,

Weather is looking good (YIKES... now I've jinxed myself).

This AM is van packing & trailer loading. After lunch it is off to Stowe.

Ed Ballam will be there to guide us on the rally on Friday and the new-and-improved Garage is ready to go!

We will report on the event from time to time from the field (well the hotel near the field) and if all goes well, we may be able to update from the dinner (thanks to Graham Pierce).

Back from Stowe and NASOC's East Coast Meet

6 cars on the dealer's "lot" including one in the garage being attended to. the weather was great, with sunny skies throughout Friday and Saturday. A little cloudy on Sunday, but no precipitation to the relief of all.

The weekend started off with the "Ballam Run". Ed, who could not attend the British Invasion, did make it down on the Friday to lead the way through the hills and dales of Stowe. We stopped at a pretty little spot overlooking a small stream - very ZEN! The pinnacle of the tour was the Von Trapp lodge where we all had lunch.

After the run, we all headed to the show field to register and set up this year's display. Many hands make for short work, but another cordless drill would have been good too! (Mental note for next year). This year's theme was a Singer dealership. Thanks too to the British Invasion organizing team who placed "Class 49 - Singer" at the frontof the show, between the concourse and the presentation stage! We could not have had a higher profile.

Saturday saw some new faces with John and Karen Lewis dropping by. Pim Visser also officially joined the Men in White by donning his Singer coveralls. Pim joined myself, Kenlis Pierce, Phillip Avis, Peter McKercher, Graham Pierce and Robert Moreau on the front line. Other Singer owners on site were Dave & Liz Craig, Len Piercey, Lori Seller as well as John & Karen Lewis.

Participating in the show was the honourary Man in White John Poole. John was instrumental in the restoration of Kenlis' car. He was quite taken with the Singer group last year and offered to put on a display of tin bashing this year at the show. We set him up in our "service" area and he spent the day, well, bashing tin. Set up with a sand pillow, wooden mallet and an English wheel, John drew quite a crowd as he bashed and formed pieces of metal.

Ballots were collected and Singers were again well represented. Kenlis and his 54 4ADT took first place, with Robert's 48 Roadster was second. I would also say the we all were winners since we managed to, again, bring Singers in to the spotlight.

Later that evening we all got together for the NASOC supper. Pizza was the main course, but laughs and stories were the main activity. Fred Gump, who purchased the infamous "Racing Singer" gave us an update into this most-mistaken car. Fred is intending on restoring the car and getting things right. We look forward to hearing more on his efforts.

Sunday was a little on the cloudy side. Most of the morning was spent in disassembling and packing up the display. Good-bye's and well wishes all around as we each headed home. A lot of great moments and memories. Singers have been taking a lot of the limelight at the British Invasion in the past few years and this has been recognized. Kudos to all who helped and participated in the event!

To next year!
