BRITISH INVASION 2016 - SINGER SENSATION AT STOWE NEWS

Post by Phillip »

The British Invasion September 16th - 17th - 18th
Stowe events field, Stowe, Vermont

The Cars that Win the Awards! is our theme for 2016 celebrating the 1936 Olympic Rally gold medal won by Betty Haig, as well as the competition successes of Singer sports cars. We also celebrate 80 years of the Singer Bantam and 60 years of the Singer Gazelle.

We want you to join us, but we need you to tell us of your interest in attending. Reservations and plans have to be made and it would assist us greatly to know who is going to be there! If you have not contacted us, you are unfortunately not yet on our e-mail list or in our booking list!

Here is an update:

- Friday Rally:

So far only one person booked

- Saturday Display on the show field:

Our theme is set - If you have any items or ideas to support the theme, please contact us!

- Saturday Dinner in the Colonial Cafe at the Golden Eagle:

Currently we have been contacted by enough people to confirm the Colonial Cafe for dinner. To those on the list, we will be sending you an e-mail outlining our event plans and offering meal choices for pre-selection, as we have done in past years.

- Sunday Tailgate Picnic club display:

No takers so far!

More British Invasion details and information on how to register at: http://www.britishinvasion.com

You can register by fax and pay by PayPal

NOTE: The organisers advise us that they expect a full attendance as the field has a max capacity dictated by the town. Make sure you book ASAP to avoid disappointment. Accomodation can also get difficult to find at reasonable cost so we suggest checking for availability ASAP also.

Judy & Rick here, Hi All.

We (Judy, Rick and Baby Singer) are planning to stay at Golden Eagle Thursday night and expect to be available Friday morning around 10:00 am ready for a rally ride. Would love some Singer accompaniment! We are flexible on the timing. Could be late morning-early, afternoon, as long as we have time to register at the event field and early enough to beat it to the village to get a Main Street spot to park.

Let us know if you think you might make a rally!

Go for it Rick!

You were our one person registered for the Rally so we had to let it go and booked our hotel for Friday night. We'll be in town early afternoon I hope!

Cheers,
Phillip

ONLY ONE SLEEP TO GO BEFORE THE BIRITISH INVASION 2016!!!

HERE IS THE FINAL SCHEDULE:

FRIDAY:

If you are planning to register at the show field on Friday, registration will be open from 12:00 Noon till 6:00 PM. Pre-registered attendees can also pick up their event package at that time.

This year those who register on Friday will pay an extra $10 to register as the event organisers are trying to discourage Friday registration and relieve the stress it places on the field crew as they are tasked with allocating space for both pre-registered cars and Friday registrations

This year The British Invasion team are hosting the Registrants’ Reception in the “Queen’s Court” at the show Field from 5:00 till 7:00 PM. Please note Name Badges are to be worn at the Reception. Singer owners attending will meet up informally at this time.

The Stowe Vibrancy Committee will present a Main Street Party on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM with a live band. Bring your Singer, but get there early as space is limited!

In order to reserve the limited number of parking spaces downtown for British Invasion Motorcar Show Registrants you will be required to show and display your British Invasion Car Card to park on Main Street, If you do not have your Car Card you will not be allowed to park on Main Street in downtown Stowe.

Please note that if your car is parked on the diagonal on Main Street it needs to be removed or returned to a parallel parked mode by 9:30 PM so that the Stowe Police Department can re-open Main Street to through traffic.

SATURDAY:

We will be setting up the display early, so please have your Singer on the field by 9:00am if at all possible.

The Singer Sensation at Stowe dinner will take place in the Colonial Cafe at the Golden Eagle Resort, as previously mentioned.

Cocktails at 7:00pm, Dinner at 8:00pm.

Please ensure that you have contacted Lauren with your meal choices. We have @27 people booked so far!

SUNDAY:

Hopefully some of you will be entering the Competition of Colours and some of the other events taking place. we have not been advised of anyone from our group entering the Tailgate Picnic yet.

LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONR THERE!
