Post by Phillip »

NASOC 40th FINAL.gif
We are very pleased to be able to announce that a number of members have now come forward and offered to support our 40th Anniversary activities. As our President Paul Bouchard mentions in NASOC NEWS, this means we can support celebration events across the USA, moving from West to East, evenly spread through-out the season.

EVENT 1:

"QUEEN'S ENGLISH ALL-BRITISH CAR MEET AND AUTO JUMBLE
Woodley Park, Van Nuys, California
Sunday, April 27, 2014 - 9am to 4pm

http://www.queens-english.org

Presently a 1-day event, but should attendance warrant, it could be made into a weekend.

PLEASE CONTACT RON STAUBER ASAP TO CONFIRM YOUR INTEREST IN ATTENDING!

EVENT 2:

MAD DOG & ENGLISHMEN British Car Faire XXIV
Gilmore Museum, Hickory Corners, Michigan
Saturday, July 12th / Sunday, July 13th

http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org

The organisers will be featuring NASOC and Singer in their show literature, as well as on-line.

Our Singer Rally will be on July 12th and the show at Gilmore on July 13th.

Featured Marque is Nash Metropolitan and the Rare Gem is Aston Martin, fitting considering Aston’s link with Singer.

Accommodation:

Clarion Hotel / Red Roof

The hotel presently is the “Best” but they are in process of converting to a Clarion. Average room rate is $129.00 but is reduced to $99.00 for a booking of three or more rooms, so please let us know if you are intending to stay so we can secure a lower price for the group. For the ones that want to go on the cheap, the Red Roof Inn is right across the street within walking distance. Their rooms average about $69.00 a night. The Red Roof is going through a total renovation and will be done in time for us. The Clarion has a large parking lot with room for plenty of car trailers and is right off the I-94 Expressway exit. It is about a 16 mile drive to the venue.

NASOC Dinner:

Our selected restaurant is “The Crew” that sits right between the two hotels. It’s nice, very reasonable prices, and a large banquet room in the back that has already been reserved. Reservations at The Crew have been confirmed for July 12th, Saturday at 7:00 until 10:00, when they close. The room capacity is 50 people so please contact us to avoid disappointment!

Since this is not a club-funded event, we may need to collect a minimal "registration fee" which will pay for certain essentials.
